Drive & Finding Motivation

Drive & Finding Motivation

Hi there,

I'm on my back deck writing this - there's a gentle breeze, it's warm and the mosquitos haven't arrived yet. Harley (new office/life dog) is chewing a bone and it feels like a Saturday.
I haven't had one of those in a long time. And as I've been thinking about "Drive" as this month's theme, I've been reflecting too that we can only sustain drive when we also carve out time for a pit stop.

This has been yet another strange week - I feel that half of the people I know are back to "normal" (even a few live shows starting up!) and the other half is still living within its bubble, heavily armed with mask and sanitizer to go out. I'm probably with that second half, for now at least.

With all of the distractions and time spent on trying to make sense of it all, it can be even more difficult to get to work. I spent awhile looking online to find something super inspiring. As it happens, the blog post that I personally found most useful was one on Tips for Artists Struggling with Motivation, from Polygon Academy, which serves visual artists and gamers.

One of the small steps you can do in the week ahead is keep learning! Our next webinar is coming up and we've got a webinar recording available. You'll find info on those below. I hope you can join us. And of course, I'm always grateful when you can share facebook links with friends and groups.

In the meantime, enjoy the rest of this weekend! I hope there's a blue sky and sunshine where you happen to be!

xo Nat!
