Rolling up our sleeves... we've got this!

Rolling up our sleeves... we've got this!

It’s incredibly easy to give into the collective panic as flights are grounded, concert days are postponed and tours are cancelled. And yet, I am blown away at how quickly so many artists have been switching to sharing their music online, at how you’ve been looking for solutions to get through the days ahead.
As many of us are at home for a couple of weeks, your streamed concerts and shared videos are essential to society’s wellness. The videos of balcony concerts in Sienna and across Italy are reminding us of how music offers hope, uplifts us and brings us together. Music is an essential part of the human experience. It has been since the beginning of time.
While technology has changed the industry, every troubadour out there knows how powerful their performance can be to inspire people, soothe them, heal them, get them dancing, etc.So please, don’t give up! We need you.
This upheaval is going to force a conversation in our society on how we can better treat our creatives, our poets, musicians and singers. In the meantime - don’t hesitate to ask for support!
Make it easy for people to send along a donation - your email to accept transfers or whatever other gateway you have for collecting cash. There is no shame in reminding your fans and friends that your rent payment is coming up. Most people around me want to help in a meaningful way and absolutely want to know that you will be able to continue creating music and sharing it with us.
Consider creating a Patreon page as a way of creating community. Artist Carsie Blanton will be sharing her tips on how to launch a Patreon page this week through facebook live.
I’m going to take advantage of this home confinement to focus on my own creative projects and get some of the e-learning off the ground. If you have any questions or want to chat, don’t hesitate to reach out at [email protected]
