One of the challenges artists face is funding their new projects so that they can bring new music to the world. Indeed, a sustainable career builds on project cycles, each integrating songwriting, recording or touring activities.
During this webinar, we look at what funding can mean for an artist, different types of funding that are available, and how best to build a plan for approaching funders with confidence.
In part 1, we start with an overview of why funding exists and what type of programs are available.
In part 2, we take a Canadian example (Explore & Create program of the Canada Council for the Arts) and break the grant process down. We also look at how to build a grant strategy.
By the end of the webinar, you should feel encouraged to take a closer look at our national and provincial funding programs - and perhaps apply to them?!
