Daring to Try! (Experimenting with new business models)

About Course

This webinar builds on Trendspotting to encourage artists to explore new ways of developing their careers and engaging with fans. One of the amazing things about confinement in the time of COVID-19 was the quick and creative response artists had to serve their communities through song.

During this webinar, we looked at some of the experiences you've had with "hybrid" performances (live and livestreamed)and shared some of the examples of daring that have inspired you. We also discussed ways artists could support others in the music industry (venues, presenters, teams) to help rebuild it in a way that is healthier and more solid for all (we need to keep discussing this! You'll find updates and new ideas on our facebook group page)

Artists have been and continue to be essential contributors to our collective mental health and social connection. This webinar gave us a chance to check in, take time for group conversations (not in the recording) and realize that we're doing better than we think.

Thanks to the artists who participated for their questions and comments, which you'll also be able to hear.

This recording is an edited version of the Zoom webinar, with a few quirks caused by the early compressed files.

Finally, you'll see that I've included the Webinar Presentation and an extra question that followed up on the Preparing for a Showcase Event that Deliverswebinar.

If you have any feedback or questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me at [email protected]

Thanks & Enjoy!
